Paul Merlo Achieves Architectural Licensure

Paul Merlo, RA, NCARBTMP Architecture, Inc. proudly announces the state of Michigan licensure of Paul Merlo, RA, NCARB, marking the culmination of twenty-seven years of experience and education in architecture and construction. To become licensed in Michigan, architects must earn an accredited degree, complete an NCARB internship, pass the rigorous ARE exam, and gain professional experience.

Merlo joined TMP in September and has quickly become an asset to the team, bringing creativity, strong problem-solving skills, and a sense of humor. In addition to design, his extensive background includes coordinating project approvals, securing municipal permits, and overseeing contractor and subcontractor administration. Combined with his deep architectural knowledge, these experiences strengthen TMP’s ability to deliver exceptional projects.

“Paul’s multifaceted experience adds versatility to our Construction Administration Team. His attention to intricate details and in-depth understanding of evolving codes and regulations elevates the quality of service we provide,” says Director of Construction Services, Joe D’Agostini, of Merlo. “We are pleased to see Paul take this next step in his career and look forward to his continuing contributions in the field.”

Merlo has worked on the Dexter Community Schools Team and has played a role in projects for the University of Michigan in partnership with First Martin Corporation. He earned both his Master of Architecture in 2002 and his Bachelor of Architecture in 1996 from the University of Detroit Mercy.

Merlo resides in Rochester Hills with his wife, Amy, and son, Carter. He enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, and spending time at his northern Michigan cabin. Merlo currently serves as the treasurer of his neighborhood Homeowners Association.
