
TMP Architecture’s design of Novi Community School District’s Meadows Elementary has been nationally recognized with an Outstanding Project Award in Learning By Design Magazine’s Spring 2026 Educational Facilities Design Awards Showcase.
The Meadows Elementary renovation and addition create a contemporary, connected campus combining modern, flexible learning environments around a linear central learning commons. Community engagement ensured the design meaningfully aligned with the District’s long-term commitment to STEAM education while creating global learning communities to foster collaborative learning.
Learning By Design Magazine is the premier source for education design and innovation excellence. The magazine’s jury of esteemed education, architecture, and facility design experts praised the project’s design with the STEAM lab serving as the centerpiece of the school community, offering an inspiring model for innovation.
“The design delivers advanced STEAM facilities and flexible learning environments, including an industrial-grade robotics lab, retractable garage doors for cross-space collaboration, and varied break out zones that support modern, collaborative education,” read Jury comments.
All submissions to the Spring 2026 awards program were peer-reviewed by a jury of vetted education design professionals and were evaluated across six criteria.
