This new elementary school is situated on a tight urban site adjacent to a heavily industrialized area. Classrooms facing this area have fritted glass patterns on the lower two window panels to distort the view but still allow for natural light. The new 73,654 SF school replaces an existing 1921 building and is located on the same site. The classrooms, catering to Pre-Kindergarteners through third graders, are slightly larger to accommodate a multitude of activities. Each room has a carpeted and wet area with a two-tiered peninsula sink for adults and children. Classrooms also feature single occupant restrooms.
