A devastating F5 tornado destroyed the original Lake Local High School. TMP was part of the design-build team that swiftly and efficiently provided the district with a new facility. Design and construction of this replacement high school took approximately 20 months from start to finish. The new 144,000 SF replacement school provides flexible learning spaces for 450 students. The school includes clear sight lines and an efficient organization of space. A high priority was the emergency storm-safe areas for students and staff. Classrooms are grouped in four academic houses that can be arranged by grade or curriculum. The new gymnasium accommodates nearly 1,800 on all four sides, locker rooms, weight and fitness areas, and an auxiliary gymnasium/cafeteria. A multi-purpose room and an auditorium with nearly 500 seats are other major attributes of the school.  Associated firm: The Collaborative Inc.
