TMP Architecture, Inc. announces the retirement of Brett Carte, Vice President, Director of Construction Services, after 35 years of loyal service. Carte’s reputation for professionalism and expertise is highly regarded within the industry by the clients, contractors, and inspectors he has worked alongside. Carte is well known for his gregarious nature, steady hand, and the enormous passion he pours into every project he has been a part of. Under his leadership, TMP’s Construction Administration Team has become a strong driver of TMP’s client service success.
“We are profoundly grateful for Brett’s unwavering dedication, thoughtful leadership, and the genuine kindness he has shown to everyone around him. His presence has strengthened TMP in countless ways, and the projects he has guided are better because of his deep commitment to his clients and his craft,” says President, Gail Allevato, CPSM.
Carte joined TMP in 1991 after completing his Associate of Applied Science in architecture from Ferris State University. During his three decades with the firm, he served as draftsperson, job captain, and architectural field representative before becoming a vice president. The entire TMP family will miss Carte’s thoughtful and inspiring guidance. His appointed successor and mentee, Joe D’Agostini, will lead the CA Team moving forward.

Carte’s unique dual architecture and construction expertise has provided tremendous value to the over thirty major clients he has served. Focusing on the educational market, Carte managed major projects like the Taubman Health Sciences Library for the University of Michigan, the LEED-Certified College of Health & Human Services for Saginaw Valley State University, and the R.L. Ewigleben Sports Complex Addition for his alma mater, Ferris State University. His work has also included large new construction, renovation, and addition projects for K-12 clients like Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, Port Huron Area School District, and Novi Community School District.
A longtime resident of Goodrich, Carte now resides in Ocqueoc with his wife, Nique, who spent 18 years with TMP before retiring in 2020. Carte looks forward to spending time with his daughter, Ericka, and granddaughter, Kennley.
Wishing Brett and Nique health, happiness, and fun in their retirement.
